    WMO requested J.J. Peters to organise and act as instructor at the 3-week long Regional Training Workshop on Sediment Transport Measurements for the UN regional association for Asia and the Pacific Islands. The training workshop was held at the Chinese International centre for sediment studies (IRCTES); the other instructors were Douglas Glyson (US-GS Reston, USA), Laslo Rakoczi (VITUKI, Hungary), Long Yu Quian (Yellow River Commission, China) and Fang Duo (University).
