Beschrijving:CEDA Dredging Days 2008 will be held on October 1-3, 2008 at the Conference Centre ‘'t Elzenveld' Antwerpen, Belgium. With the title ‘Dredging facing Sustainability' CEDA Belgium intends to raise a wider awareness of the stakeholders to the efforts made by the dredging world – sponsors of dredging projects, dredging contractors , shipyards and consultants - to sustainable development.
The session chairmen will introduce us in a number of important issues : to what extent can the dredging industry contribute to the fight against climate change : by reducing CO2 emissions our by building coastal defences? Will we dredge for oil, for gas or for wind energy? Can dredging restore wetlands and revitalise our estuaries? Is dredging for economical growth compatible with nature conservation in our coastal waters? Are dredging techniques available to achieve “no adverse” or even “no impact” on the environment? |
