Abstract
    Recently, a number of new approaches, associated with different temporal and spatial scales, have been developed for the determination of sediment transport pathways and the derivation of erosion, transport, and deposition rates. This work highlights a selection of these new approaches and their application in coastal and shelf investigations. The book will aid sedimentologists and sediment dynamicists in their selection of the best approaches for the interpretation of sediment transport rates and directions. Balson is affiliated with the British Geological Survey, UK. Collins is affiliated with the University of Southampton, UK.
