Abstract
    The growth of C. Flexuosa has been studied in experiments in which cultured colonies have been exposed to copper and cadmium, separately and in various combinations of concentrations. The results of different experiments have been used to construct a response surface and to show how it develops with time. The data suggest that while the effect of mixtures of copper and cadmium are more or less additive over much of the response surface, where growth is inhibited most, both antagonistic and synergistic effects may occur.
