Abstract
The data presented show that the occurrence of residual amounts of lindane in the brain or heart of Sarotherodon galilaeus is no proof of acute poisoning. The presence of lindane in the gills at concentrations of 0.25 ppm or more should be regarded as highly indicative of the fish having been caught after accidental or deliberate poisoning.
