Five species of algae are reported, four of them are new for the Mediterranean: Laurencia microcladia Klitzing, Dipterosiphonia dendritica (C. Agardh) Schmitz, Polystrata fosliei (Weber Van Bosse) Denizot, Leathesia difformis (L.) Areschoug. The last: Desmarestia viridis (O. F. Müll.) Lamouroux, reported in 1849 from the Adriatic, has never been mentioned since. The Rhodophyta collected are described, especially the morphological, structural and phenological characteristics of Laurencia microcladia Klitzing. Ecological conditions of collecting localities are given together with their phytogeographical implications. |
