Abstract
    Three new specimens of Neoglyphea inopinata, two of them being adult females, were obtained in June 1985 from the Musorstom 3 Expedition. These latest finds widely increase our knowledge of the species. First of all we can now add a morphological description of the female, previously unknown. A sexual dimorphism is clearly apparent, similar to the dimorphism already noticed in some fossil Glypheids; the first pereiopod is much shorter in the female, and the abdominal pleura slightly more rounded. The discovery of females provides highly important information on this group. We find, among other things, that there is no seminal receptacle or thelycum. These additional data support and complement our previous hypothesis on the ethology of Neoglyphea. Moreover, an abbreviated development may be inferred from the presumably large eggs. In a short discussion on the systematic position of the Glypheidea, we express the view that the infraorder of Palinura, proposed in recent classifications of the Decapoda, cannot be accepted. The three taxa Scyllaridea (or Palinuroidea), Eryonidea (or Eryonoidea) and Glypheidea (or Glypheoidea) have so many important diverging features that each of them must be considered as an independent infra-order. On the other hand, Glypheidea share many characters with the Astacidea, and are perhaps more closely related to this infra-order.
