| Abstract |
Deep water decapod crustaceans (Crustacea: Decapoda) collected by the SochoBio 2015 (Sea of Okhotsk Biodiversity Study) Expedition from bathyal and abyssal waters of the Sea of Okhotsk and adjacent NW Pacific are presented in the paper. The list consists of 11 decapod species, including Munidopsis antonii (Filhol, 1884), Neocrangon abyssorum (Rathbun, 1902) and Sclerocrangon zenkevitchi Birstein & Vinogradov, 1953 recorded deeper than 3000 m. Collected Hemipenaeus spinidorsalis Spence Bate, 1881 represents a new species record for the Sea of Okhotsk. The record of Pandalopsis rubra Komai, 1994 from a depth of 1000–1580 m greatly increases the known bathymetric range of the species. Moreover, the shrimp specimens collected from a depth of 3303–3366 m, probably, represent an undescribed species that seems to be one of the most deeply dwelling species within the genus Lebbeus White, 1847. Besides, a rare deep water axiid Calocarides okhotskensis Sakai, 2011 is re-described based on specimens collected at a depth of 1600–1700 m in the Kuril Basin of the Sea of Okhotsk. The species is mostly morphologically similar to the NE Pacific Calocarides quinqueseriatus Rathbun, 1902 known from Oregon to Baja California. The discussion on the distribution of the genus Calocarides Wollebaek, 1908 in the North Pacific is presented. |
