Dauciconus jacquescolombi and Dauciconus massemini, two previously unrecognized species belonging to the genus Dauciconus (Gastropoda, Conidae) are named. The two species live in rather deep water: the first one from Martinique Island, the second one from French Guyana. The new species are compared with 12 members of the Dauciconus daucus complex: D. daucus (Hwass in Bruguière,1792); D. boui (da Motta, 1988); D. norai (da Motta & G.Raybaudi Massilia, 1992); D. goajira (Petuch, 1992); D. vikingorum (Petuch, 1993); D. riosi (Petuch, 1980); D. worki (Petuch, 1998); D. jorioi Petuch 2013; D. amphiurgus (Dall, 1889); D. aff. amphiurgus (under study); D. glicksteini (Petuch, 1987). |
