The paper presents an overview of data based on the analysis of published information concerning the transoceanic migrations of lampreys (Petromyzontidae), sharks (Selachii), and actinopterygian fishes (Actinopterygii). A classification of transoceanic migrations, including eight various types depending on their characteristic features, is proposed. It is shown that transoceanic migrations are rather an exclusion than a norm, even in such good oceanic swimmers as tunas of g. Thunnus and marlins (Istiophoridae). |
