Abstract
    The group of Australian Recent populations forming the subgenus Cymbiolacca, formerly named the "pulchra Complex" is revised. Five new valid species are recognized: C. {Cymbiolacca) cracenta McMichael, 1963, C. {Cymbiolacca) complexa Iredale, 1924, C. (Cymbiolacca) houarti Poppe, 1985, C. {Cymbiolacca) moretonemis Bail & Limpus, 1998 and C. {Cymbiolacca) subelongata Bail & Limpus, 1998. Two new subspecies are distinguished: C. {Cymbiolacca) pulchra flindersi ssp. nov and C. {Cymbiolacca) intruderi rowseorum ssp. nov. The species C. {Cymbiolacca) excelsior Bail & Limpus, 1998 is downgraded to subspecies. The type of C. {Cymbiolacca) pulchra (Sowerby 1, 1825) and itslocus typicus are defined again.
