Abstract

The occurrence and distribution of ten species of Paraonidae Cerruti, 1909 (Annelida, Polychaeta) on infralittoral soft bottoms along the Tuscan coast is described, with particular emphasis on the relations with hydrodynamism and size grains. Details of the systematics and ecology of the species (one of which is new to the science: Paradoneis ilvana n. sp.) are reported.
