Over het archief

Het OWA, het open archief van het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium heeft tot doel alle vrij toegankelijke onderzoeksresultaten van dit instituut in digitale vorm aan te bieden. Op die manier wil het de zichtbaarheid, verspreiding en gebruik van deze onderzoeksresultaten, alsook de wetenschappelijke communicatie maximaal bevorderen.

Dit archief wordt uitgebouwd en beheerd volgens de principes van de Open Access Movement, en het daaruit ontstane Open Archives Initiative.

Abstract:

Het centrum voor Internationaal Recht is de opvolger van de vakgroep Internationaal Recht en komt voort uit de samensmelting (in de jaren 1990) van drie voormalige centra, met name het Centrum voor de Studie van het Recht van de Verenigde Naties en van de Gespecialiseerde Organisaties (REVN), de Eenheid Internationaal Recht en Internationale Instellingen (INRI) en het Centrum voor de Studie van de Oost-Europese Socialistische Rechtsstelsels (Centrum OOST). Sinds 2003 vormt het centrum, samen met het centrum voor Europees Recht, de vakgroep Internationaal en Europees Recht (IERE). De groep verricht hoofdzakelijk onderzoek binnen vier domeinen: het zeerecht; het recht van de internationale organisaties; het internationaal regionaal recht in Afrika; de Oost-Europese rechtsstelsels. Het marien gerelateerde onderzoek spitst zich toe op het internationaal zeerecht in het algemeen. Bijzondere aandacht gaat daarbij uit naar mariene pollutie en milieu, het internationaal en Europees visserijrecht alsook de maritieme afbakeningsproblematiek. Op regionaal vlak wordt bijzondere aandacht besteed aan Arctica, de Baltische Zee en de Zuid-Chinese Zee. Tenslotte wordt ook de Belgische statenpraktijk op de voet gevolgd.
