Over het archief

Het OWA, het open archief van het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium heeft tot doel alle vrij toegankelijke onderzoeksresultaten van dit instituut in digitale vorm aan te bieden. Op die manier wil het de zichtbaarheid, verspreiding en gebruik van deze onderzoeksresultaten, alsook de wetenschappelijke communicatie maximaal bevorderen.

Dit archief wordt uitgebouwd en beheerd volgens de principes van de Open Access Movement, en het daaruit ontstane Open Archives Initiative.

Abstract:

Binnen de OD Natuur, is de groep Aquatic and Terrestrial Ecology (ATECO) ontstaan uit de logische versmelting van drie vroegere eenheden die binnen het KBIN onderzoek deden naar biologie en biodiversiteit: Ecologie en Beheer van de Zee (MARECO), Biodiversiteitsmonitoring en beoordeling op het land (BIOMON) en Zoetwaterbiologie (FB). Deze fusie combineert nu expertise over biodiversiteit in de drie belangrijke gebieden van de aarde: in zeewater, in zoetwater en op land.
