Abstract:
De laboratories of Image, Signal Processing and Acoustics (LISA) hebben expertise ontwikkeld op het gebied van zowel beeldanalyse/patroonherkenning als computergrafiek. Op het gebied van beeldanalyse en patroonherkenning ontwikkelt deze eenheid nieuwe methoden voor objectsegmentatie, -herkenning of -tracering in 2D- en 3D-problemen, multimodale beeldregistratie en statistische leermethoden die worden toegepast op beeld- en gegevensclassificatie. De ontwikkelde algoritmen zijn gerelateerd aan biomedische, industriële en HMI (Human Machine Interface) toepassingen.

Het mariene onderzoek van LISA richt zich op seismische en geochemische analyse in zeebekkens:
  • seismische 'moment tensor solutions' voor geofysische kartering van het Filippijnse zeebekken;
  • geochemische tests om de effecten van cementverhouding op de uitloging van kalium en TBT en de pH van de mariene sedimenten van het Kattegat te bestuderen.
