Over het archief
Het OWA, het open archief van het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium heeft tot doel alle vrij toegankelijke onderzoeksresultaten van dit instituut in digitale vorm aan te bieden. Op die manier wil het de zichtbaarheid, verspreiding en gebruik van deze onderzoeksresultaten, alsook de wetenschappelijke communicatie maximaal bevorderen.
Dit archief wordt uitgebouwd en beheerd volgens de principes van de Open Access Movement, en het daaruit ontstane Open Archives Initiative.

"A missão da FCT é promover continuadamente o avanço do conhecimento científico e tecnológico em Portugal, explorando oportunidades que se revelem em todos os domínios científicos e tecnológicos de atingir os mais elevados padrões internacionais de criação de conhecimento, e estimular a sua difusão e contribuição para a melhoria da educação, da saúde e do ambiente, para a qualidade de vida e o bem estar do público em geral.
Esta missão concretiza-se principalmente através da concessão de financiamentos na sequência de avaliação de mérito de propostas de instituições, equipas de investigação e indivíduos apresentadas em concursos públicos, e também através de acordos de cooperação e outras formas de apoio em parceria com universidades e outras instituições públicas e privadas, em Portugal e no estrangeiro." |
