Jianmei An focuses on the classification of parasitic isopods and terrestrial isopods. Within WoRMS and as thematic editor on the Chinese Register of Marine Species (ChaRMS), Jianmei is familiar with the core operating mechanisms, the academic norms and the overall development goals of WoRMS. In case of election, Jianmei will fully devote her professional experience and spare no effort to contribute to the development of WoRMS. She will continue to participate in the supervision and optimization of taxonomic database maintenance, assist in checking and improving the accuracy and completeness of marine species data, and consolidate the core data foundation of WoRMS. In addition, she will actively respond to the committee’s work arrangements, participate in decision-making discussions related to platform operation, editor management and academic standard formulation. Active communication with front-line editors and data providers is an important topic to her, as is suggesting optimizations to the process of database use and maintenance. Within her academic background, she will actively promote academic exchanges and resource docking related to marine species taxonomy, expand the influence of WoRMS, and attract more professional researchers and contributors to participate in WoRMS.
