Het OWA, het open archief van het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium heeft tot doel alle vrij toegankelijke onderzoeksresultaten van dit instituut in digitale vorm aan te bieden. Op die manier wil het de zichtbaarheid, verspreiding en gebruik van deze onderzoeksresultaten, alsook de wetenschappelijke communicatie maximaal bevorderen.
Dit archief wordt uitgebouwd en beheerd volgens de principes van de Open Access Movement, en het daaruit ontstane Open Archives Initiative.

My principal research interests are the systematics and ecology of freshwater copepods, especially planktonic Calanoida and Cyclopoida from South America, which I have been publishing articles about for the last 20 years. I am an assistant professor at Department of Hydrobiology, Federal University of São Carlos (Brazil), and I regularly teach graduate-level copepod identification training courses, as well as for researchers in general. I also guide students at all levels and I have participated in and coordinated research projects on continental zooplankton, from South America and other continents. Almost daily I consult the WoRMs database to check taxonomic information on different species, such as their validity, distribution, many description articles, among others. I have a special interest in contributing to the resolution of taxonomic problems about Neotropical copepods in WoRMS, verifying the nomenclature, and adding images with important characters. | |
