Het OWA, het open archief van het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium heeft tot doel alle vrij toegankelijke onderzoeksresultaten van dit instituut in digitale vorm aan te bieden. Op die manier wil het de zichtbaarheid, verspreiding en gebruik van deze onderzoeksresultaten, alsook de wetenschappelijke communicatie maximaal bevorderen.
Dit archief wordt uitgebouwd en beheerd volgens de principes van de Open Access Movement, en het daaruit ontstane Open Archives Initiative.

Devoted to assessing the resources, technology and ecology of the worlds oceans, the Ocean Yearbook provides this information to its worldwide audience in a one convenient, easy-to-use resource. As in previous editions, each article in Ocean Yearbook 20 provides a unique perspective and case study written by an expert in the field, allowing readers to learn from specialists without having to decipher field-specific jargon. Each new volume contains key international documents and an annually updated global directory of ocean-related organizations.
