This chapter cites the taxonomy followed, the sources of information, and the names of photographers who kindly allowed their photographs to be used. Furthermore, the difference between Hydrozoa and Bryozoa is briefly explained, which is not so obvious for beginners. The general morphology of bryozoans is explained, and the classification of the three extant orders is given. A brief explanation follows about reproduction, collection, research, and preservation. Finally, there is an identification key to the orders. |
