Het OWA, het open archief van het Waterbouwkundig Laboratorium heeft tot doel alle vrij toegankelijke onderzoeksresultaten van dit instituut in digitale vorm aan te bieden. Op die manier wil het de zichtbaarheid, verspreiding en gebruik van deze onderzoeksresultaten, alsook de wetenschappelijke communicatie maximaal bevorderen.

| Abstract |
A new replacement name, Acanthocythereis huyangorum nom. nov., is proposed for the nominal species Acanthocythereis spinosa (Hu & Yang, 1975) (Crustacea, Oligostraca, Ostracoda), a junior secondary homonym of Acanthocythereis? spinosa (Lienenklaus, 1900). The two nominal species also have an earlier history of secondary homonymy within the genus Trachyleberis Brady, 1898. The type series of Acanthocythereis huyangorum nom. nov. is affirmed to consist of all the specimens designated as either the holotype or paratypes of Trachyleberis spinosa by Hu & Yang; an attempt by later authors to restrict the application of the specific name to one of the paratypes is invalid. |
